The Great Wolf Lodge Sandusky, Ohio
The Great Wolf Lodge is one of three indoor water parks in the Sandusky, Ohio area. With over 33,000 square feet of indoor fun, the park is located just minutes from Cedar Point Amusement Park.
The park has several wet and wild features including Fort Mackenzie, a four-story, 12-level tree fort with more than 50 guest activated water effects. Once on top of the fort, brave explorers can try the cargo netting walkways and suspension bridges. There’s also a huge bucket that fills with 1,000 gallons of water and dumps it on visitors every few minutes and a 25-foot climbing rock wall that features unique water effects.
Wolf Track Landing features nine slides and five pools. And tube slides covering 626 feet twist both inside and outside the facility.
Adults can enjoy two 45-foot tube slides, two body slides, a lazy river, two oversized hot tubs and an activity pool with water basketball.
There’s plenty for the kids as well including three kiddie slides, a zero-entry children’s pool with interactive toys, dueling body slides and “Soak N Oak Springs,” a toddler treehouse complete with water-spouting bear cubs.
Located outdoors is an oversized children’s activity pool known as Raccoon Lagoon that features geysers and water basketball.
Should guests tire of the water activities, the Lodge offers the Northern Lights Arcade with more than 100 games and fabulous prizes. Hungry? The lodge offers several choices including the Gitchigoomie Grill, Klondike Café and Lumber Jack’s Cook Shanty. And for those guests who would like to take home a souvenir of their stay, the lodge offers three shops--Northern Exposures, Buckhorn Exchange and Bear Essentials.
Rooms at Great Wolf Lodge feature pine furnishings, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer and pay-per-view movies/Ninetendo. Rates range from $279 for a family suite that sleeps six to $389 for a suite that sleeps eight.
Located in Sandusky on US 250 just north of Route 2 and the Ohio Turnpike, Great Wolf Lodge is likely to make Sandusky a year-round tourist destination.
